Newk's Nook: If you have windows 7 or Vista you probably don't want or need a search engine for your desktop. However, windows Xp needs help. Here's a freebie that make searching your hard drive easier.

Search engines aren't just for the Internet anymore! You can get one for your desktop that will make your life so much easier.

This may be one of the lesser-known desktop search programs, but it plays with the big boys. It will help you find documents, PDF files, spreadsheets, pictures, e-mail, music, and much more.

If you find yourself spending more time finding files than working on them, Copernic Desktop Search is for you!

Note: Desktop search programs tend to be very thorough. Be sure you look at the program's settings. For example, if you are on a shared computer, you may not want the search programs to keep copies of sites where you shop or enter in your personal data.
